Miracles and our funny Chloe

A miracle happened this weekend.  I got the painting done in the bathroom.  Well, that’s a half truth.  There is paint where there needs to be paint of the color I chose, but it still needs a second coat on the trim, maybe even a third.  And caulking needs to be done and the closet door, but I’m not sure what color I should go with on that one.  I can’t wait to post pictures, because it really is a transformation.  We LOVE the curved curtain rod, I can’t recommend one enough.

Hubby didn’t know quite what to think.  He didn’t mind the busy flowers and butterflies so when he walked into a plain bathroom with no accents he was a little taken aback.  He assured me later that he thought I did an excellent job and couldn’t believe that I had gotten all that done in one weekend. (Let’s just say, I’m catching up on a lot of laundry).  I also had to wait for him to install our curtain rod.  And once that was up it really livened up the room.  I really like our new bathroom.

I have been wanting to post these cute things Chloe said for some time.  We were at the table eating lunch or dinner, Hubby was at work, and Chloe had some comments on the back side of me.  I copied her words down exactly, because it was so funny.

Chloe:  “Mama, your bottom is growing.”

Mama: “Why do you say that Chloe?”

Chloe:  “Because I was looking at it and it looks very big.”

Mama: “Oh, okay, well I think that is very funny, but just so you know it isn’t very polite to tell someone something like that.  You might hurt their feelings.”

Chloe: “Are your feelings hurt?”

Mama: “No, but you still shouldn’t say something like that.”  I say this as I turn my back to her to throw something away.

Chloe: “See!  Look your bottom is very big!”

I really don’t know why she would say something like that other than I was wearing pants that I don’t normally wear and she thought my behind was bigger than normal.  At least I know that if I start putting on the pounds I’ve got someone who’ll let me know.

The other one was the other night when we were getting ready for bed.  She was carrying around one of her babies.  This baby when pressed on the tummy sings the “Jesus Loves the Little Children” song.  The baby had let her know that it needed to use the potty.

Chloe:  In her most nurturing, mothering voice. “Oh, you need to use the potty, okay, sit right here now.  Go ahead little baby, go potty.  That’s it, you’re such a good baby.”  She pats the babies belly and the song begins by accident.  “Oh, you have a little song from your heart, do you?”

At this point I just chuckled and she was a little embarrassed, but I reassured her that she was being such a good Mommy.  She was happy with that.

We had one of those curved curtain rods at the hotel on our way to Christmas… what do you like about it?

I absolutely cannot stand it when the shower curtain touches me when I’m showering. And the way a draft sometimes makes it blow into the shower so it gets plastered next to my leg or arm, ugh, just one of my pet peeves. This does not happen with the curved one.
Also, if you happen to be catching a shower with your husband because it’s really the only time you’ve had the chance to shower all day because you’ve been running around chasing little ones, cleaning, cooking and everything else that being a homemaker entails, it’s really nice to have the extra room! :)

Oh, and I think it lookes really nice.

Tamara, I am soooo with you on hating the shower curtain clinging to you while you shower! It’s actually caused by the steam in the room causing the curtain to go in, like balloon! Your paint colors are beautiful! I would paint the door the same color as the trim. . . for me, it would be too choppy to do otherwise. JMHO, though:) Love you guys!
